Nothing oecured to mar the pleasure and protit of the occasion except That the dust was uncomfortable. Everything was orderly. The brothern and ministers speak highly of the conduct of such a vast crowd.,John Howe’s tailor shop was burglarized on Saturday night, about $100 worth of clothing was taken. We have no doubt it is home talent. Concerned citizens will do well to keep their pistols in order and give these chaps a leaden messenger on their visits, Mrs. Lurn’s residence the night previous was also raided by these scamps, but she succeeded in driving them off.Little Jimmy Scallan the 0-yeur old son of T. J. Scallan, had his great toes and one toe next to them of both feet cut olf by a feed grinder. He was barefoot at the time and stood in the hopper while two other children were playing with the sweep—under the skilful treat-ment of Dr. Morgan the little sufferer is doing as well as can be expected.Clinton County fair opens in De Witt, September 4th, and continues the balance of the week.Prairie chickens are scarce here iibouts.Will Flannertv is now De Witt's
