LEADING CAGE CAMPERS-Fort Walton Beach High School girls basketball coach Kevin Craig (center) had a busy summer as he took a number of his players to basketball camps. During the high school team camp at Florida State University the Lady Viking team won the championship with an 11-1 record. Four of the players on that winning team were (L R) Debbie Bossi, Stephanie Dorman, Charlene Mercer and Sandy Farr. Also on the team were Cheryl McNair and Marianna players Cherise Wilson and Torron Rouhlac. Dorman was named as the camp's Most Valuable Player while Rossi, who was recently honored on the Governor’s Board of Student Athletes, was selected as the camp's Most Improved Player. Dorman and Craig also attended the B/C Camp in Georgia where more than 280 top players from all parts of the country were present. Dorman was selected among the elite top 20 all-stars in this camp and caught the eye of many college scouts. Earlier in the summer Craig and Bruner Orange coach Bill Knox took a number of Bruner players to a junior high camp at FSU. Among the 120 girls at tending this camp were Bruner’s Diana Broxson, Safina Turner, Alesha Flaggs, Melissa Dorman, Tara Kline, Tammy Bates, Tara Barton, Kelly Bray, Sayuri Doyle, Carmen Johnson, Toby Bolduc, Dede Russell, Susie Richards and Shelly Jarosz. Russell, Jarosz, Kline and Johnson were selected to the camp’s all star team.
