The First Baptist Church was the setting for the double ring wedding ceremony August 21 at 2 p.m. when Miss Sherill Cer nan became the bride of Lloyd Allen. Mrs. Gaynelle Ames played organ selections before and dur ing the ceremony. Mrs. Diane Hilgert of Belleville sang ‘‘Whi ther Thou Goest’’ and “The Wed ding Prayer.” The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Cernan of Cen tralia, was given in marriage by her father. Her floor length gown was fashioned of white or ganza over silk and lace. She wore an elbow length veil which was attached to a crown of seed pearls and she carried a cas cading bouquet of Peter John mums, pompons and ivy. Mrs. JoAnn Bain of Centralia was matron of honor. Mrs. Da vid Allen of Centralia and Miss Sue Bridgman of Bluffs, served as bridesmaids. They wore iden tical floor length dresses made of forest green peau de soie and had matching headpieces. They carried bouquets of bronze and yellow pompon mums. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Paul Allen of Cen tralia, was attended by David Allen, his brother, as best man. Groomsmen were Jim Hight of Boulder, Cole, and Lynn Cer nan, Centralia, brother of the bride. Ushers were O. J. Miller of Godfrey, and Bruce Allen of Rantoul, cousin of the groom. The bride’s mother wore a beige linen dress with matching accessories and the groom's mother chose a beige knit two piece dress with green accessor ies. They both wore bronze and yellow pompon- chrysanthe mum corsages. A reception was held immedi ately after the ceremony in the church Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Sara Heuberger, sister of the groom, served the punch. Miss Kathy Weiss, and Miss Nancy Seitz, cousins of the bride, served the cake. The serving table was covered with a lace cloth over forest green. The four tiered wedding cake topped with white bells was decorated in yellow and green. Yellow flowers encircled its base. At each end of the table were can delabra. Mrs. Lynda Wall of Olney and Misses Annette and Beth Cortel you of Centralia served at the gift table. Scott Cortelyou was in charge of the boutonnieres for the men of the wedding par ty. Mrs. Virginia Betz of Cen tralia served at the guest book. Debbie and Mark Anderson, cousins of the bride, distributed the rice bells.
