Melton, 81. died at his residence near Old Fort Friday : morning after a brief illness.Funeral services were conducted I at Green Knox Holiness church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock and j burial followed in the church ceme-|tery.He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Sarah N. Melton; three sons, Frank, Joseph and Lonnie Melton; five daughters, Mrs. W. A. Moore, Mrs. E. W. Whitson, Mrs. W. F. j! Freeman, Miss Annie Melton of Oldj Fort and Mrs. D. S. Philbeck ofI Shelby; 24 grandchildren and 18' | great-grandchildren; one brother,] •John Melton of Asheville; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Watson of Ridge-'t Icrest; two half-brothers, Wiley Mel-; ton of Shelby and Lee Melton of: Marion.
