SATURDAY, AUGUST 29,1868:4The social condition of “ the tight little Inland ” of Prince Edward must be a very desirable one, if we take the many social gatherings, public school examinations, bazaars,pio-nice, tea-parties, c., which annually occur at Charlottetown, in which all denominations, forgetful of sectarian differences, seem heartily to unite, as an index of the state of society. At a recent Examination of the pupils of the Catholio College of St.» Duns tan, which recently took place in that | city, we find in attendance a’large number of the most influential Protestants of the island, among whom were the Hon. George Coles, the leader of the government, Hon. Chief Justice Hodgson, Hon. Colonel Gray, and several other leading gentlemen and ladies.
