After long and patient suffering with cancer Mrs. Christine Bernhart past from mortal life about 1:00 o’clock Thursday morning. The funeral ser vices will be conducted at the home at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. William Wilmer in charge. Mrs. Bernhart was born in Becken heim, Hesse Darmstadt, Germany, Nov. 20, 1836 and was a daughter of Frederick Meitzler and wife. They emigrated to Attica in 1856 and two years later she married Stanislaus Bernhart, who died in 1893. Eight daughters and two sons were born to them, and three of these are dead. Catherine and Christine died in infancy, and Jacob in 1892, after he had grown to manhood. Those surviving are Mrs. Emma B. Foster, of Ann Ar bor, Mich.; Misses Mary and Elizabeth who resided with their mother; Frank; Mrs. F. R. Robinson; Mrs. John T. Nixon, and Mrs. F. M. Fugazzi, the latter of Eatontown, N. J. She is also mourned by seven grandchildren. Mrs. Bernhart was reared in the German Evangelical faith but in 1888 became a member of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Bernhart had lived in Attica ever since coming to America and had had an active part in its social and community life. Her warm heart and kindly nature had made her many dear friends and they will join with the children in mourning sincerely her de parture from among them.
