Little Russell Chapman Makes a Bicycle Trip of Over 118 Miles. Russell Chapman, the eleven year old son of Dr. E. E. K. Chapman, has just completed an 118 mile ride on a bicycle which gained him considerable notoriety over the route which he passed. Two weeks ago last Tuesday the lad left this city on his wheel for Diamond Lake, Ind. He had never been over the road before, but he hunted the course like a pathfinder. He ar rived at his destination on Wednesday evening, sound and healthy, but richer in experience. At Elkhart he was held by the land lord of a hotel for several hours as a runaway. The boy declared his inno cence, however. After a time his story was believed and when accepted that he was making such a long ride at so tender an age, the entertainment which was given him at the hotel would be fit for a ‘Bicycle King.” Little Russell also hunted out the old homestead of his grandparents on his way. He returned last Thursday afternoon with his mother and brother Eldred who have been visiting at Diamond Lake for the past several weeks.
