Such contincc as tying cans to the tails of animals should be condemned at all times and especially when so many teams are upon the square. From Geo. A. Wilson. We had the pleasure of read ing a letter yesterday, from Geo. A. Wilson, dated August 24, at Amarillo. He seems well pleased with that country. He took a_trip_to Canyon _City, and declares that he never saw the equal to the country area there, especially did the speak of the fine sorghum and millet, also vegetables of all kind and melons. He says that while there it rained a good season able rain which caused grass and late vegetables to grow finely. He says the canyons which are over one hun feet deep in places presents a magnificent scenery. The streams at places are twenty. abundance. He commended the people for their sociability, who, he says, are always ready to answer questions and enter tain homeseekers. He all said that he found a_ great, many progressive republi cans and suggested that the democrats had better be look ing after.the it ty if they wished to save it from. the — a grasp of re publicans. leave AnneElise ef Manlton, Colorado.
