An Iden 1 Home.Mr. E. G. Kramer of this place has probably the best fitted up home in the county. .Situated just across the railroad on Depot street, it is but a few hundred yards from the public square, yet at the same time has all the privacy, comforts and luxuries of a country home. The residence contains eight rooms all on first' floor, with ample verandahs and halls.But it was of the farm, orchards, Ac, that we started out more particularly to speak. There is on theplace twenty-three acres of ground all of which is cleared, and nearly every bit of it is planted in some sort of grass. The large and commodious lawn in front of the residence, is sodded down with blue grass and clover, afld having been made rich by fertilization, it presents at all times* with its luxuriant growth a beautiful sight to behold; In the rear of the .residence and back of the orchards, there are five different fields sowed down in the various grasses and forage plants, such as meadow oat grass, orchard grass, herd’s grass, lucerne, clover, millet Ac, all of which at the time of our visit seemed to be in a thriving condition.In addition to his two fine dray horses Mr. K. has a select herd of cattle and Merino sheep, for which and the raising of forage these elegant pastures are prepared. vThis beautiful little farm Is well watered, having two streams running through it.Of frnits Mr. Kramer has probably the greatest variety of any one in this section of the State. He has all the best grapes usually grown in this country, he has the LeOonte, Bartlett, Keifer and other varities of pears; he has apples of different kinds. Among rare fruits we noticed the Japanese persimmon and some others whose names we do not now recall.Mr. Kramer puts up a large quan-ity of wine every year. He has wlues in his cellar now from the vintage of 1876, about the first we presume that was made from his vineyard as the place was settled in 1872.
