A major fire struck Peters Revington Furniture Company in Delphi last Monday afternoon. Estimates of damage run from $200,000 to $250,000 according to the Delphi Fire Department. When the Delphi Fire Department arrived on the scene at 2:39 p.m., Monday, August 25, smoke and flames were coming out of roof vents of the building which contains the paint booths. Assistance was re quested from area fire departments, and firefighters from Monticello, Camden and Flora also came to the scene, along with EMT's from Carroll County. Two paint booths and the north end of the main floor of the building received heavy damage, as lacquer and tables burnt. There was also heavy water damage to tables in the shipping room of the building. A conveyer in the building was believed to have caused the fire. Two firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene by EMT's of the Carroll Coun ty Ambulance Service. Firefighters left the scene at 4:42 p.m. Employees at PR were evacuated from all areas of the factory, with most departments expected to return to work on Tuesday. Peters Revington of Delphi manufactures fine fur niture products, and is a division of Mohasco.
