Lynnwood, Aug. 26.—Luther Ray nes was a visitor in Broadway, yes terday. Dr. Albert S. Kemper spent sev eral days visiting Dr. Hugh H. Young in Baltimore, Md.,_ this week. Dr. Kemper went to Balti more with G. Fred Switzer of Har risonburg. Mrs. G. Fred Switzer of Harris onburg is spending this week visit ing her mother, Mrs. Albert Kemper, Mrs. Jean Lohman, of Nora, is expected to return to Grace House Mission Monday. : Miss Orwig, of the Yancey Mis sion, was a recent guest of Miss Sallie W. Lewis and Mrs. C. F. Miller at Mapleton. Capt. Thomas Heaton, of Church Army, Yancey, conducted services at Grace Episcopal Church Sun day evening. Mrs. Furman and children of Grottoes and Miss Or wie of Yancey Mission were in at tendance. John Luther Walker of Roanoke, spent the past week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther V. Walker. Mrs. Amanda McCauley of Pal myra, Pa., recently visited Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Knight. Mrs. McCauley is now staying with Mrs. Sallie Morris of Pine Knott. Mrs. Mor ris was also a recent visitor in the Knight home. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Sheetz of Palmyra, Pa., have returned home after visiting Mrs. Ernest Morris and others in this section. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Mor ris and daughter, of Shenandoah City were Sunday guests of Mrs. Ernest Morris. Mrs. Wirt Wise, of near Bridge water, spent the past week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Lewis. Miss Martha Brock has returne to her home in Harrisonburg after spending last week with Mr. and Mrs. Luther V. Walker, Rev. and Mrs. C. C. Durkee. Miss Ada Forback and Miss Mary Pey ton have returned to Elk Ridge, Md., after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sam H. Lewis and Mrs. Miller and Miss Sallie Lewis at “Mapleton.”
