The funeral riteswere conducted at the Frankton Methodist Episcopal Church on August 3, by the Rev.. H. Palmer, of Pendleton, Ind., a closefriend and former pastor, assisted by theRev. C. L. Schwartz, the present pastor. Burial was made in the French Cemetery,at Frankton.Bro. Harper was born in Sanderland, Durham County, England, in the year 1846, a son of the Rev. Thomas and Jane Harper.Not only was he the son of a Methodist minister, but he was descended from a long line of Methodist ancestry. He was edu cated in both the preparatory and secondary schools of England. He spent some years in collegiate and theological training. At the age of ten he was converted and unitedwith the Methodist Episcopal Church, andfrom those early years throughout his entirelife he was an active member and ferventcommunicant.
