c arried full sail forFORTY DAYSSchooner Mary Elizabeth Sailed 3,600 Miles without Changing Full Spread of Canvas Halifax, Aug. 8—Without having made a single change in her full spread of canvas in tne 40-day voyage of 3,600 nautical miles from Brava, Cape Verde Islands, the two-masted schooner Mary Elizabeth, in command of Captain Henry Rose, a Newfoundlander, arrived in Narragansett Bay a few days ago.The Dest day’s run was 180 knots on the first day out from Brava. She was bound to New Bedford and has since arrived there after being delayed by fog in Narragansett Bay. The Mary Elizabeth has fre-uentlv been in Halifax, the last ime bringing a cargo of scrap iron from Bermuda.—Halifax Herald.
