Recalled Days of Gold Rush in Autobiography ANAMOSA Aug. 27 —(Special) “In the death of George W. Lamb. Sf, o¢ 4 pOrleck this morning is seen the paring of the man thought to be the oldest pioneer resident of Jones county, hale and hearty until the last. Mr. Lamb began wrting an autobiography in the last few months of his life. Im the hit of this pioneer who was born in 1827, more than the usual adventures of pioneer living are mingled with hardships of the faiily bars. He watched the Cali fornia gold rush of '492 he himeolt made the trip overland to the western coast to drive cattle back. Of his TOrone and two daugh ters, William J. Lamb of Ananiem, Mrs. Wl Sherman of Mt Vernon, J), and Mrs. Sherman Meritt of Aramem, sumite, while one son, Edward Lamb of Chicago, has been dead for overall years.
