Chris Nielson, of Jackson, Injured Saturday, Expires From Injuries Today. PROBE CAUSE OF FALL Inquest Scheduled for Late Today, Dispute Over What Occasioned Fatal Tumble. Chris Nielson, aged 36, a carpenter who fell fifteen feet from a scaffold on the farm ‘of Leslie Giest at Symer ton, Saturday, breaking a leg and eight ribs, died early today from his injuries at St. Joseph's hospital. Nielson is a resident of Moldt’s Grove, Jackson township, where he is survived by a wife and three children. Funeral To Be Held Thursday. Arrangements are now being made for the inquest to be held late today by Coroner William Wunderlich. The funeral will be held from the late resi dence Thursday at 10 o'clock to the Elwood Presbyterian church, Rev. Nye officiating. . That Nielson did not meet instant death is considered wonderful by wit nesses who have been summoned to appear at the inquest today. He fell on a pile of lumber, striking his head upon loose boards, ‘First Thought Dead. When picked up he was thought dead, but recovered consciousness while being brought to Joliet by El mer Gurney in an automobile. Efforts will be made at the inquest to ascertain what caused Nielson’s fall. It is claimed by some that he slipped from the gseaffold and that the sup port did not fall.
