LEHMAN REUNIONThe fifteenth annual reunion of the Lehman family was held Aug. 8 at the Lancaster fair grounds in the art hall with about two hundred in attendance.An elaborate lunch was served cafeteria style. The business meeting was held immediately after dinner. Retiring of ficers were: pres., Willis Lehman, Logan; vice-pres., Lewis Lehman, Hemlock; sec.-treas., Mrs. Floyd Siniff, Carthon.Newly elected officers were: Pres., Rev. Oscar Allebaugh, Guyton, Lancaster; sec.-treas., Baltimore; Vice-pres., L. V. Mrs. Henry Ruff, Bremen.Following election of officers, a short program was rendered, consisting of recitations and songs. Also a history of the family tree, which was very carefully prepared b y Miss Florence Lehman, Columbus. The history dates back to Rev. Adam Lehman, born in 1732 and who died in 1823, at Frederick, Maryland. He w is 91 years of age.Then comes Rev. Jacob Adam Lehman, aged 79 years; Wm. Lehman who was the g r e a t grandfather of the writer, who died in Indiana near Huntington. Rev. John Lehman, who was a cousin to Joseph Lehman (grandfather of Willis Lehman) was the father of C. Frank Lehman, once an undertaker for the Logan Mfg. Co., but now of Columbus; also William Lehman, engineer on the H. V. Ry., who resides on North, St., Logan. The history covers a period of nearly 200 years. The historian promises to make a tour of the eastern towns mentioned to add new and earlier history.The most of the history was taken from records made by • the U. B. church and was written from the records at Dayton. The writer deserves much praise for her untiring efforts.There is to be held on Sept. 12 a reunion of the Lehmans of Indiana near Columbia Center to which the writer is invited. Willis Lehman.
