A startling discovery made in the city. Gold bearing quartz in liberal quantities has been found.The starting annoucement that the streets of Winnipeg have been paved with gold was made 011 good authorsty yesterday. Mayor McCrearyimmediately wentout to investigate and fouud thaf there was some truth in the report. He is now about the proudest chief magistrate of any city on the continent. The discovery was made by Mr. Henry, of the firm of Henry and Grout, mining assayors and brokers. He was inspecting one of the streets on witch a macadam pavement has recently deen put down when his eye happened to light 011 a small pioceof rock witch looked u little too rich to be used for pavement purjioBos.
