Examination of School Teacher*.The examination of candidates for IocaI public school teachers in first, second, and third grades, was conductad by School Commissioner Kenney on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. There were 43 candidates, most of them young women. Those for the first grade certificates have the hard eat work. They have to pass a written examination in the following subjects : algebra, American history, arithmetic, composition, current topics, civil gDverunn uL drawing, geography, grammar, methods and school economy, orthography, penmaushtp, physics telejueutnrj) physiology, hygiene, uud school taw. The requirements for the second grade are tbe same ns for the first, with the exception of physics, algebra, and school law. The qualifications for third grade are not as many as the others.
