reet.local kindergarten school and what an able teacher can do with the children she gathers about her in a pretty room.QUITE COMPLIMENTARY.Mr. David White of This City Visit* HU Did Ohio HomeMr. David White one of Bloomington's most aged and highly respected citizens, accompanied by his wife, has been visiting the sconces of his childhood at Batavia, Clermont Co., Ohio. They returned home last night after a most delightful visit. The Clermont Courier published at Batavia pays Mr. White and his aged brother the following tribute:Two gentlemen walked up Main street yesterday morning. Both were handsomely dressed, each one carried a cane, both were as erect as a flag staff, and stepped off with the firmness and precision of business men on their way to their daily occupation. They were John and David White, aged S5 and S(\ respectively. John White is the oldest resident of this place, and his brother David, has for many years, been a resident of Bloomington, 111., and is now visiting the scenes of his youth. These old gentlemen \ere born in the present residence of Mrs. Eliza Kain, and were raised in Batavia. Mr. David White had some difficulty in locating his birth place, as in the times of his youth the road iu front of the door was a deep gulch, which extended into the back yard. This house, and the old Woorstell homestead, built by an uncle of the Whites, were the only houses on Spring street, now one of the most flourishing streets in the town, at that time. L. K. White was born in the Woorstell house some seventy years ago. Mr. John Wiiite says that the weather-boarding on the Woorstell property has never been removed from the day on which it was put on, upwards of ninety years back. David White is charmed with the growth and beauty of his native town but meets with few if any of his youthful companions. He is accompanied by bis wife and will remain here this week. There is probably not a paraieil case of age. health, prosperity and prospect of continued happy days, as between these brothers, in the state.
