Tht Dctlb Boll.Anderson Smith, an old man living on the other aide of Barberville, known as “Long Goody,” and a well-known character in Athens, being a peddler of medicinal roots and shade trees, died yesterday morning at his home. None of the coffin stores in the city had one long enough for him, and Edge Dorsey had to get McGinty to make his coffin.Mr. Bell, father of Capt. John B. Bell, candidate for Ordinary in Oglethorpe county, died at his home near ‘Antioch, on the Athens branch, last Tuesday. He was highly esteemed.Ovr Press Lttiers.
