(UPI) - A county superior court judge denied a request by San Jose State University student government officers for the immediate reinstatement of four athletic programs eliminated by the university last May.Santa Clara Superior Court Judge Leslie Nichols refused: to grant a preliminary injunction Monday to prevent the university from eliminating the school’s fabled men’s track and field, wrestling, men’s cross-country and women’s field hockey programs.“The judge did not even write an opinion because he 'didn’t want .his name attached to program eliminations, ” said Leigh Kirmsse, a member of the Associated Students board of directors.
