LAUREL, Miss. — For amateurs they drove a good race. That was the general opinion of the special owners race at the Laurel Fair grounds stock car races Saturday night. The owners, none of whom had ever driven in money competi tion, surprised the fans with an ex hibition of fast, skillful driving. The winner, 317, made the three miles in 3 minutes and 23 seconds; 76 was second, 2 Sharp third and 666 fourth. Jackson's John McCann, driver of 76, and Gulfport’s Clint Mc Hugh, driver of 74, were the big Winners in the regular contests. McCann drove 76 to victory in the fast heat and in the A Feature.
