UCJ .—Sheriff Rees arrived in 8t Landry parish last week, and bought here, a negro who is said to have concealed the fugitive Panl Cormier for three or four months, soon after the Robertson murder. The negro claims that he did not know Cormier, he came to his house under the name of Panl Jones, and said he hail killed two women, because he had to, he could not help it The negro says he did not know who the ladies murdered were neither where the murder was committeed. But lie gives some good descriptions of Cormier, and says Cormier told him the trouble they had in coming down throngh the window on tue ladder. All what he knows of the murder, he claims was obtained from Paul Jonee. He also claims to have met Paul Jones in Algiers, the early part of the present year, and says he was living at the time with a woman he claimed was bis wife.
