from the journal Tribune: “Nine businesses from the down town area are seeking an injunction against the town to prevent a new bus ordinance which is scheduled to take effect on Sept. 1. Owners from Flaherty Imports LTD, Litris Inc., American Sailor Clothing, Mountain Tops Resort Shows Inc. Port Trust, Saxony Imports, The Emporium and Port jewelry say the ordinance is unconstitutional because it restricts interstate commerce by charging tour buses which bring in tourists from out of state. The Board of Selectmen voted on July 25 to amend the ‘Commercial Tour Bus Ordinance’ so that bus drivers had to purchase permits and schedule times when they could pick up and drop off passengers in town”
