I totally disagreed with his concept for the future of Westhaven,” Scott said.“I ASKED Ives to critique the master plan we have now and he pointed out the same faults I would have found.We were given a map of the village as it presently is plus a strip down I^aGrange road The plan did not take advantage of the opportunities for extension into the open land around us and would have restricted us to extend our boundaries to not farther than 175th street.”Scott added that the plan did not include the % acres being considered for annexation on the south, west and east sidesof the village.“We hope to get a better working agreement with this architect and the board,” he said. “Right now Westhaven has no understanding with neighboring comuruties as far as zoning plans go. With the development all around us, some guidelines must be set.”Although the village currently does nothave the funds to pay Ives, Scott said it has applied for a federal planning grant.We're in the process of getting out of debt,” he continued. “And I’m predicting that Westhaven will be out of debt byChristmas.”Trustee James O’Brien said it would take Ives approximately six months to complete the project.THE BOARD also acknowledged receipt of a letter of resignation from Darlene Kaluzny, village secretary.In a letter to the village president and trustees, Mrs. Kaluzny stated her decision to resign, which became effective Friday, “is merely money and benefits.I have to be able to depend on a definiteThe Tinley Park Rotary club made (250 in donations to community organizations Friday.Rotanans donated $200 to the Tinleypay check at a definite time,” her letter stated.The board voted to make applications available for the position at the rate of $3 an hour for a 33-hour work week.The board also approved employment of Marilyn Jacobs as matron radio operator for the police department at a rate of $3 per hour, subject to approval from the Cook County Manpower Services office.Authorization to form a special voluntary police patrol unit was also granted. The special force will be comprosed of Geno Fortuna, Richard Doyle, Steve Sesal and Duane Hahn.Trustee Robert Smith said the four men would assist the Westhaven patrolmen as part of a police training program.Park park district for purchase of benches for the Barrett subdivision tot-lot 177th street and Sayer avenue.
