Services for James W. Smith, 83, Sabina, who died at 8:45 a. m. Saturday in Fayette Memorial Hos ital, were held at 10:30 a. m. uesday in the Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina. He had been in failing health six months and ser iously ill for two months. Mr. Smith, a retired carpenter and paper hanger, was born in Brown County but had spent most of his life here. He was a member of the Sabina Church of Christ. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ted Merritt, 316 E. Elm St., Washington D. H., a son Earl Smith, mentee three grand children and five great grandchil dren He also leaves a brother, Frank Smith, near Otway. His wife, Ola Allen Smith, pre ceded him in death. Rev. Don McMillin, Washing ton D. H. had the service. Mrs. Walter Stackhouse was at the or gan. Pallbearers were Lester Mit chell, John Hussey, K. B. Rankin, Pat Hiles, Clarence Shultz, Lewis Hodge. Burial was in Sabina Cemetery.
