The farmers prize these birds very highly because of their effectiveness in destroying grasshoppers and they seldom shoot one for their own use. Consequently itgives them no pleasure to see hunters come out from town and slaughter the birds. The farmers threaten to have arrestsmade if the shooting is not stopped, and one cannot blame them much if they do.
