Samuel Kirby has constructed a harness for his horse, using sey the recently patent ed buckle invented by W. Willshire Riley, of Cromwell, in place of the ordinary buckle, with a tongue. All the work of making harness was done by Mr. Kirby himself and the task was performed well, too. It is perhaps the only harness in the state on watch hare is not a congue buckle. Mr. Riley has recently applied the princi le of the invention in another direction, d now has a buckle arranged to hold the rope for a hammock or for any other pur nose as well as it will hold a strap.
