Gone to Best.0aidOn last Tuesday the mortal remainsof Uncle Jesse Dale were borne to their last resting place near the town of Maloy, Ringgold county, Iowa, followed by a large number of persons who hold him in high esteem as ft friend and good man while Jiving. He died at the residence of his son-in-law, Bazwell Turner, at 1 o’clock Monday morning in the eiglity-sixth year of liis life. Funeral services were conducted from the residence by Roy.^ John Evans*. of . JlieBaptist church.Jesse Dale was born in Madison county, Kentucky, Apr. 14, 1803, and was married to Elizabeth Dowdea in Fob*, 1823. He moved to “Woolford county, 111., in 1829, and, it being about the time of the Black Hawk war, he enlisted as a private and served until peace was restored. Ho then engaged in the business of entering land aud selling it to persons seeking homesteads in the west and was quite wealthy when ho came to Bedford in the summer of 1854* He entered the quarter section on the west of Bedford and fitted it op for a home in his old age. This ho sold to his son, John, nearly twenty years ago and purchased property in the town where he has since resided. Ho was the father of eleven childrenr only one of whom,Mrs. Bazwoll Turner, survives.
