GUnt Kinney, a school board member.Other goals presented to the board for discussion Monday were examining ways to shorten the period of time students are allowed to make changes in their class schedules at the beginning of the school year and investigating the addition of an eighth period of classes to the school day.The staff and administration this school year also will be busy reviewing curricu-lums at the three campuses in preparation for the North Central association visitation next fall The association is an institution that certifies school districts.In anticipation of further decline in enrollments in the district, the administration this year also will examine the administrative structure. “If we are going to be reducing the teaching staff (because of declining enrollment), it behooves us to reduce the administrative staff as well,” said Warren.Among other business Monday, the board of education accepted the resignation of Deborah Lee, home economics teacher at Rich South, and rehired Nancy Pawluk, who had been dismissed earlier, to replace her. Ms. Pawluk's salary will be $16,785 annually.The board also hired Ruth F. Sporer as a psychologist for the district schools. Ms. Sporer, who has been a school psychologist since 1949, was hired at an annual salary of $30,445.
