Had Attended Lone Rock High, In Past Several Years Lone Rock. Funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran church near Seneca last Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Sande for Everene Jeanette Cherland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cherland, who died at her home last Monday morn ing. Everene Jeanette Cherland was born November 21, 1911, at Humboldt, Iowa, and died August 13, 1934, being 22 years, 8 months and 25 days old. She was three years old when her parents moved to Burt, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She attend ed a rural school near her home and attended high school at Lone Rock. She was taken ill about three years ago and entered Oakdale hospital on Nov ember 2, 1931, where she remained un til March 29, 1934. At that time it was her wish to be brought home where she remained until her death. She leaves to mourn her death her parents, three brothers, and three sis ters, Amy, Otley, Julian, Myrtle, Ru by and Arlet, besides many other rela tives and friends. The local school will start Monday, September 3rd. Gladys and Kathryn Stebritz went to Mason City Saturday to visit until on Tuesday. Viola Riddle of Burt visited her sis ter, Mrs. Charles Shick, a few days last week. Jim Ackerman and Ralph Priebe made a business trip to Mason City last. Monday. Bernard and Viola Eckdahl of Chi cago arrived at the Wm. Nelson home Sunday for an extended visit. The August Birthday tea sponsored by the members of the Mite society will be given Thursday, August 23rd. Roy Alme of McHenry, North Da kota, came last Wednesday for a visit at the home of his brother, Chet Aime. Mrs. A. E. Stephens of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, came last Wednesday for a visit at the home of her brother, H. E. Micha. Mrs. Ray Bierstedt returned home from Humboldt where she has been the past two weeks at the Harold Fur nace home. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shaser and daugh ters, Mary and Florence of SBotia, Iowa, spent the weekend at the Chris Shafer home. Margaret and Gladys Nelson return ed to Chicago last Sunday to resume their work after a few week’s visit with their parents, the Wm. Nelsons. Melvin Christensen and Bernard Genrich took some show cattle to Ma son City Saturday where they will en ter them at the North Iowa Free Fair, Mrs. Howard McChesney and three children who have been visiting at the parental George Pettit home and with other relatives here, went to Minoka, Ilinois, Friday to visit at the H. J. Mc Chesney home, Charles Lingenfelter returned home last, Tuesday after a visit at various places. Wm, Johnson and son, Clifton and wife of Manly brought him home and visited at the Watson Shirk home last Tuesday. Mrs. Mary Mehren, and daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johns of Plattville, Wisconsin, Left last Wed nesday for Ironwood, Michigan, after a few days’ visit at the H. B. Micha home. Mrs. MehTens is Mr. Micha's sister. The Mothers club met at the home of Mrs. J. M. Blanchard last Wednes day afternoon. Aisiting hostess was Mrs. W. G. Flaig. A piano duet by Doris Mae Blanchard and Lucille Gen- Tich and a piano solo by Doris Mae Blanchard were rendered. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Fred Wegener. Mr. and Mrs. Chet. Alme and Roy Alme of McHenry, North Dakota, drove to Sutherland Saturday to spend the weekend at the home of Mrs. Al me's sister, Mrs. John Sones. Beverly Jean Sones, who has been visiting at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Blanchard accompani ed them to her home.
