Kenneth Carpenter and Maurine Holman, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Yontz, were quietly united in marriage August 18th. at 4 p. m. at the home of the bride's parents. The ceremony was performed by the groom’s aged grand-father, Rev, Michael Bowman. The immediate families of the contracting parties being present. After the ceremony an elaborate wedding supper was served.Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter are both well known and highly esteemed young people of the community, and are both active members of the Topeka Church of the Brethren, he a teacher and president of the young people’s class, while Mrs.Carpenter has tmght the primary class almost six years.Mr. Carpenter who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Carpenter, east of town is an industrious farmer a type seldom found these days. Mrs. Carpenter is a graduate of To peka High School of the class of ’23. They will reside on the Yontz farm^southeast of town.The Journal joins their manyfriends in extending congratulations.✓
