BOISE (VP) — Voters went to the polls today to decide whether they want to swap Boise's city charter for status as a first-class city. Polls were open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nearly 150 persons had cast absentee ballots Mon day before absentee voting ended. Mayor Eugene Shellworth called the election to remove all doubt concerning the legal status of the city’s government after Sept. 1.
