On Thursday afternoon and evening*, August 23rd, 1928, the employees of the Northern Indiana Public Service company, of Hammond, Gary, Valparaiso, Crown Point and Michigan City, will hold their annual picnic at Noble Oaks Picnic Grounds, Cedar Lake, Ind.The program for the day consists of a ball game, races, contests, swimming, basket lunch, etc.Considerable curiosity has been created by the announcement of a special feature, known as “The Largest and Smallest in Yellow.” The company has declared a half holiday, and has provided transportation refreshments, music, prizes, etc.It is estimated that two thousand will attend this picnic, which is the largest picnic the Northern Indiana Public Service company has ever held.
