Thomas physician and surgeon of this city this paper ia able to stato that not only the berries were poisonous hut that the bush was not as supposed a Japanese honeysuckle. Dr. Breed established the Identity of the plant anil Dr. Thomas established from his references that the berries wero pois onous.When Dr. Breed was informed the berries were dark red in color he was at onco satisfied that they were not the Japanese honeysuckle berries. Being provided with a small sprig from the hush, with the berries attached he was easily able to determine their character and at once, Identified the hush as not a Japanese honeysuckle but as a fly honeysuckle. This Is an imported bush coming from Asia and its pols onous berries nre (lark red.
