The leading Democrats are making an effort to harmonize and unite their party, They may have an elephant on their hands, hut it is far from being an impossibility. The leaders are men of great mental power and influence, and if they are once gotten together it will not be a hard matter to unite the people. The great body of Democrats all over the country are anxious to have a Democratic president and they begin to realize that to do this tbty will have to lay aside all factional strife and contention and become united on a solid and conservative platform. We trust that this may be done and that u Democratic presiden t may Ibe elected at the next national election.— West Point Plain Ihaler.
