For Hood General HospitalCounty Hires Administratorby ROGER ENLOW HCN NEWS EDITORJoe Langford, 30, hospital administrator at Ranger General Hospital, was named Hood General Hospital Administrator during a called session by the County Commissioners Friday afternoon.Langford will assume duties at Hood General on September 6.The commissioners interviewed two men for the position Wednesday night, after narrowing down the elite field. The new administrator was officially announced about 1:05 p.m. Friday in the County Judge Milton Meyer’s office in the courthouse.A screening committee was selected about four weeks ago to screen applicants, after hospital head B.C. Hamilton submitted hisresignation.When Langford came to Ranger Genera] Hospital in May 1974, the Medicare offices in Austin and Baltimore, Md., had condemned the old hospital and resented Ranger due to the politicalpressure made by Congressman Omar Burleson in wavering the accreditation of the hospital until the new hospital was completed.
