Toronto, Aug. 21.The interprovin cial match open to teams, a new fea ture at the Ontario Rifle Associa tion's meet, which was won by the Ontario team, proved to be one of the most interesting competitions at the meeting. Five teams of six men each we entered, the four western prov inces,Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Al berta and B. C., competing with On tario for the cup presented by Col. Sir Henry H. M. Pellatt and $120 ad ded by the association. B. C. won the second prize and Al berta the third. The teams fired 10 shots on the 600 and 800 yard ranges from the prone position. Ontario scored 649 out of a possible 600. Scores by teams were: 600 800 Total Ontario .. .. as. 270 279 649) British Columbia .. . 283 281 544) Alberta .. ..... . 272 272 544] Manitoba .. .. .. . 547 | Saskatchewan .. .. . 532 ' Although B, C. and Alberta each scored a total of 544 points, the sec ond prize was awarded to the coast team because of the fact that they scored, stronger on the long range. Ontario: secured the Pellatt cup and $50, B. C. got $40, and Alberta $30, the western provinces of course, and fewer men than Ontario, to draw from in making up teams, so were to that extent under a handicap.
