We have been shown a letter from the Superintendent of Pinkerton’s Detective Agency, in Chicago, with regard to the murder of J. H. Boyle, of Tonga loo Mr. Pinkerton says he was one of the worst men he ever knew, having been in the Penitentiary in Maryland for murder, and iudieted elsewhere for other offences. He regards his death as a good riddance, and says lie is satisfied that he gave liis murderers some reason for the deed. We do not propose to condone crime, hut as this ease lias been published us a Southern outrage, we make this sti^ement for the benefit of our Northern brethren.—Baptist Eteoord.
