On a Tuesday, the 30th July, our’intle har bour was'in a state of excitement, in anxie ous expectation of the Sunday School Treat which was to take place on that day, bo» ing the first of the kind that was ever given in Fogo. ‘The excitement extended from the band of little ones to those grown up, and full of yeate.. ‘The Church flag was hoisted about ten o’clock. Shortly after the children began to assemble at the school-roofs, and at hallf past one, marched two abreast from thence 0 the wharf of Messrs. Cox Co. (headed “by their Superintendent, Teachers, and Clergy* man), where there were several boats waiting to receive them, gaily decorated in flags of different colors. As soon as the children were all seated the boats moved on in regu lar order, ‘preceded by the Clergyman’s Yacht, towards Lighthouse Island, where they soon arrived.
