Around The County By Stuart HawbakerMac Swaar Elected Agriculture Chairman Mac Swaart Mason City, was recently elected chairman of the Mason County Agriculture Extension Council. Swaar has served on the Extension Council as Secretary-Treasurer and as chairman of the Livestock committee and the Referendum Committee. Swaar is a prominent pork producer near Mason City. Raymond Messman, Havana, will serve as Vice-chairman. Messman, also, serves on the 4-11 Committee. Weldon Renken, San Jose, will serve as Secretary-Treasurer of the Extension Council. These men all assist in preparing and planning the county agriculture education program of the Cooperative Extension Service.New appointments on the Council this year are John Roat, Havana; Delbert Frye, Easton; Dave Fomoff, Kilboume and Joseph Meyer, Topeka.
