Atomic energy to be discussedAtomic energy will be discussed Wednesday at the Men’s faculty club meeting. The members of the panel will discuss atomic energy and its implications in the fields of industry, government, and social welfare.The results of research in this field have been hailed as among the greatest achievements in the history of mankind, according to Dr. D. Welty Lefever. chairman of the program committee of the organization.Dr. Charles S. Copeland, associate professor of chemistry; Dr. Wilbert L. Hindman, assistant professor of political science, and Dr. George B. Mangold, professor of sociology and social work, will discuss the subject.“We are fortunate to have these gentlemen present their views on this timely topic. states Howard ; W. Aug. 19.—lt;ILE | | —The Japanese Domei news agen- !,cy reported today that all Tokyo ; newspapers are featuring an aerial photograph of the “devastated city of Hiroshima, victim of the atom bomb,’’ in the first graphic description by the Japanese press of the ' havoc wrought in the Aug. 6 raid.Domei said the picture showed the city completely reduced to ashes, with only one chimney standing upright in .the right hand corner of the photograph.
