Irving Ashby, Special Service guitarist, who was formerly with Lionel Hampton’s orchestra, became a father Monday, August 16, when ihs wife gave birth to » daughter in Los Angeles.Mrs. Ashby is the former Corinne Howe of Boston. She holds a M.A. degree in history and languages : from Boston university and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Pvt. Ashby, a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music, came into the Army from Los Angeles, where he served as staff guitarist and copyist for Twentieth N Century-Fox, and was on call at Metro-Glodwyn-Mayor Studio.In Los Angeles, Mrs. Ashby is one oi of the head teachers of the Pueblo blt; Del Rio Nursery School and second in on the list of eligibles for the city vi supervisor of nursery schools. j 5(S]
