Van Wert.—Thomas E. Crooks, 44, well known business man and life-long resident of this city, died Tuesday as a result of a self-inflicted gun shot wound Monday night. Mr. Crooks was well known throughout Van Wert county. He always showed a keen in terest and worked on public affairs. For two terms he served as a mem ber of the city’s sinking fund com mittee. He was a member of the four bodies of the Masonic order and a member of the Presbyterian church.
