Two “Good” Negroes Ask To Have Names Dropped From BooksMYRTLE BEACH, S. C. Aug. 19 (ANP)—Two “good” Negroes the only registered colored voters in the town, decided that the time is not yet here when Negroes should vote, and asked the mayor to remove their names from the Democratic party’s club books this week.Charlie Fitzgerald and his wife Mrs. Sarah Fitzgerald, requested Mayor H. W. Tallevast, a member of the county executive committee, to scratch their names off the roll. He said to the mayor:“I don’t think this is the right time to put our names on the book.” He added that colored and whites here get along very well (Continued on Page 4)
