Pecker-head bill collins recom mends a Rip(aplican Asstab lishment in Columbia. The following card says the Phoenix, has been handed to us, which received one insertion free of charge. One side bears the following: “Philip Epstin, with L. Mann, Palmetto Clothing Establishment, dealers in clothing, gents’ furnishing goods, boots, shoes, hats, trunks, c., Assembly street, between Washing ton and Plain streets, we the upper end of the Market, Columbia, D. C.” The reverse contains this notice: “REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT, c.—We re spectfully inform our friends that this is the on ly Republican clothing establishment in the city. ’e y contradiction! Res fully recom mended by Hon. Alsop Goodson, Hon. W. J. Brodie, Hon. W. 8. Collins, Hon. T. B. Stull.” All (save one) gentlemen of color, but Hon. ‘Senators or Representatives.” We learn that the rush for linen coats, umbrellas, fans and carpet-bags is expected to be unprecedented.— ‘How we apples do swim.”
