Scott, Cashier, John Tilford, President.— Killing up and signatures clumsy and by the same hand.Northern Bank ok Kentucky, at Lexington.— 1*8, signed J110. Tilford, President, dated «lth of Jan., 1845, has recently been pul in circulation. The whole uppearance of the note is well calculated to deceive; upon minute examination the vignette at the top, (‘specially the female figure, will be found coarsely executed, and the impression a shade or two lighter than in the genuine note. The signature of the President which is well nigh perfect, when inspected through a magnifying glass is discovered to he engraved, but to the nuked eve presents ever*'appearance of being written.3*8, letter A, payable at various branches to W. Dunn and others; At. T. 8cott, Cashier; signature and tilling up in the same hand writing; paper of a yellowish cast, well calculated to deceive, if not closely examinee.5*« letter E, psy W. E. Halloway, Sept. 24,1839; M. F. Scott, Ciahicr; T. W. Tilford, President. Vignette, a Locomotive and a train of care, pale, hut calculated to deceive.10’s letter A, vignette, Railroad cars; 1 third of an inch shorter than the genuine. 10’s altered from l*s.20’s spurious; vignette, n female dressing a wounded man, letter D, dated August 20, 1839; W. S. Sault, Cashier, J. N. Tilford, President, in place of J. Tilford, payable to L. S. Sunsleal. No resemblance to the genuine. The signatures have been marked out in line hair lines, and which are not covered ii the signature. jv*20’s letter i), pay A. Hawkins 1st January, 1828, others November 4, 1839, M. T. Scott, Cashier, (no dots between the letters M. T. S. as in the genuine,) John Tilford, President. The word twenty on the margin, near the right end of the uppur part of the bill, in the counterfeit is one third of an inch from the margin—in the genuine it almost touches.
