The occasion was the celebration of Jeremy’s third birthday. There were approximately 25 guests present for the celebration and party. Guests Thursday evening:at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward DeRue and children Lisa,Tammy, Dawn and Edward Jr. were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Isaac DeRue and grandson Angel, Robert DeRue, Melody Vane and daughter Angie and Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeRue and children Tracy and Scott. The occasion was the celebration of Edward DeRue’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeRue and children Tracy and Scott and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Sr. enjoyed a‘day visiting the Seneca Park Zooe in Rochester on Thursday afternoon. Ruth Cornwell, previously of Newark, joined her husband Bob in Jackson, Tenn. recently. Bob has been living in Jackson snce March when he was transferred to the plant in that area. Don will be making his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Cornwell and will continue his studies at Potsdam ~ The Session of the Fairville Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly meeting on September 1 at the church beginning at 7:30 p.m. . Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeRue and children Tracy and Scott, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Sr. spent Friday afternoon at Roseland Park in Canandaigua. They enjoyed dinner at the Pizza Hut in Canandaigua. Mr. and Mrs. John Talbo recently returned from spending some time in Maine while Mr.Talbo was vacationing from his place of employment at the New York Telephone Company. Mrs. Emily Vanderlinde of the Brantling Hill Road was a dinner guest Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Frank of the Heidenreich Road. Mrs. Elwood Morgan of Joy recently spent a week with Mrs. George Stacy of Anderson, S.C. (her aunt, who is formerly of the Fairville area. Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold DeRue and children were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Sr. of the Fairville Station Road. . Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Jr. were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brevet, Sr. Four members of Boy Scout Troop No. 121 recently spent the weekend at Camp Babcock-Hovey for tap-out ceremonies. The Order of the Arrow, Tap-Out means National Brotherhood of Scout Honor Campers. Those at tending were Rob Cowley, David Tack, Brad Burnham and Bill Randolph. Carl Tack also accompanied the group as one of the initiators. Members of the troop went down on Friday evening and returned to their homes on Saturday evening after the initiation ceremonies. To qualify for tap-out ceremonies a scout must have one full week of camping and four campouts and also be a first class scout. Tim Mackey was also present and assisted in the ceremonies. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Franks of the Ross Road enjoyed a picnic on Sunday held by the Richardson Farms at Fair Haven State Park. Area residents are asked to note that services at the Fairville Presbyterian Church will not be held on Sunday, August 21 and 28. You are invited to attend the church of your choice on these two. The occasion will be the celebration of his 77th birthday. New officers for the coming bowling season for the Fairville Couples Bowling League will be as follows: president, Henry Kolvis; “vice president, Jean Harris; secretary treasurer, Barbara Ramph and Sgt. at Arms, Bill Randolph. The first night of bowling for the Couples League will be Friday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. at Rose Bowl Lanes. The price this year will be $3.00 per person. Subs are also needed, so if anyone is in terested in bowling they may contact any of the league officers.
