MO NETT - Dr. (Den*?Doutliitt, Monett, lias announced purchase of the Ozark Speedway racetrack at Joplin from Burl Garvin and Frank Petty ofJoplin. .Doutliitt. a dentist, is the owner of racetracks at Monett and Fayetteville, Ark. Joe « Davidson, promoter at the Monett Speedway will also promote Tuesday night races at the Joplin Speedway. Chester \ Stevens will continue to promoteraces at Fayetteville. IA pre-grand opening will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Joplin Speedway with a purse of $2,000 going to the drivers. A , field of 50 cars is expected for the race.A tentative added feature will . be Bill and Jan Ward in their human bomb act, in which she is surrounded by eight sticks of dynamite which are detonated.Weekly races will be held at Joplin each Tuesday night. Among top area drivers expected every week are Dale Roper, Eddie Potts. Fred Tullis, , Roger Chism, and Ken Essary.
