James F, Murphy began their new duties in the Lewiston Police Department, as the re * organization law for the department became effective. Amnott now is Captain of Detectives, a new position create!! by the act. The Department retains two captains of police, Capt. J.A. Picard and Capt. Herve McGraw, Murphy was chosen a lieutenant, a position which replaces the in* spectorships. The other lieutenant is Ralph Fraser, who has been serving as inspector in the department.Dr, Paul J. Fortier and Joseph A. Gendronof Lewiston were named delegates to the National Convention of Exchange Clubs to be held in Cincinnati. Ohio.Rev. Sister LaChapelle, superior of the Sisters of Charity at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, was among eight persons named by Governor Horace A, Hildreth to the new advisory council for the Hospital Survey Act. The council, which had previously functioned as a governor's committee, was named to help the department of health and welfare develop a plan for coordinated hospital service throughout the state.
